This weekend we went to Waiheke island off the coast of Auckland city. The island is known for its wineries and vineyards so naturally we went and learned about the wines of Waiheke island and New Zealand. The bus systems around Auckland are difficult to figure out and that difficulty extends to the island. The island was about 133 miles around and on our way to get from one end of the island to the other we got lost, leaving us with lots of laughs, walking, and gratefulness as we were reminded of living in the moment and enjoying where we were at and the people we were with. We meet people on the island that shared their stories with us, that shared laughs with us, and most of all we enjoyed the weather as this time of year back at University its dropped to cold temperatures and even a bit of snow.
